The timing could not have been better! This week, Foundations in Faith, Board of Trustees approved several significant grants to support Priests in the Diocese of Bridgeport. According to Kelly Weldon, the Board takes a holistic, three-pronged approach to enhancing the formation of Priests.
The first prong funnels funds into the recruitment and discernment of men sensing a calling to the priesthood by approving a grant to the Office of Vocations for $29,213.
The second prong targets committed seminarians with a grant for $95,794 to offset education costs; primarily tuition, room, and board.
The third prong ensures that our retired Priests are well cared for. The Board of Trustees approved a grant for $36,593 to cover general operating expenses at Our Queen of Clergy retirement home for Priests located in Stamford.
Some very ‘Good News’ is that the number of men discerning and entering the seminaries is growing. A needed trend that like Easter brings us great hope for the future of our Catholic Church.
With Easter just three days away, Foundations in Faith is pleased to announce these grants totaling $161,600 to support the Priesthood. We are most grateful to all our amazing Priests.
