GRANT TYPES AND FUNDING
Foundations in Faith offers four types of grants to support pastoral ministries in the Diocese of Bridgeport. To apply, you must represent a Diocesan Catholic Parish, Deanery, program or organization and meet certain criteria. You will also need to set up an applicant account.
- Program support grants have a competitive yearly application cycle. Grants are available through the St. John Paul II Fund for Faith Formation and are open to Diocesan Parishes and Deaneries to apply. A grant is available through the St. Therese Fund for Evangelization and is open to Diasesan initiatives.
- General operating support grants are non-competitive grants offered to ministries selected by the Curia based on donor designations aligned with pastoral Diocesan priorities. These grants are provided through the St. Charles Borromeo Fund, St. John Vianney Fund, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Fund, St. John Bosco Fund, St. Catherine Center for Special Need Fund, the Lourdes Fund and Catholic Charities of Fairfield County Fund.
- St. Francis Xavier Fund (SFX) grants provide support to select urban parishes deemed vital to the Diocese with strong Pastoral and lay leadership, vibrant in their ministries and missionary outreach yet face financial burdens. In the past, fiscal stability grants, technology and communications grants, emergency need grants, liturgical supply grants, and capacity-building grants have helped SFX Parishes embrace truth, beauty and goodness.
- Mini-grants range from $500 to $2,000 and are awarded to ministries that fit our mission of enhancing Pastoral ministries in the Diocese of Bridgeport and demonstrate exceptional innovation or exceptional need. They are available on a rolling basis when funding is available and are by invitation only.
